On the first weekend in July, downtown Darmstadt is once again transformed into a huge fairground: More than 200 carnival operators from all over Germany provide fun and entertainment at the Darmstadt Heinerfest. The several hundred thousand expected guests will be treated to a rich cultural program in Heinerstadt—ranging from dialect performances to music, theater, and exhibitions, along with many rides, delicious food, and refreshing drinks.
